In the scene, the sisters impart their questions to their separated mother (Mimi Rogers) about her new life partner (“His name is Lou. Let’s assume it so everyone can hear: Lou”) while contending over their own beau issues.
The film highlights portrayal from Saoirse Ronan (Atonement, The Grand Budapest Hotel) voicing a third sister who kicked the bucket during childbirth. Amanda Crew (Silicon Valley), Jon Heder (Napoleon Dynamite), Dan Byrd (Cougar Town), Tyler Labine (Deadbeat), Madeline Zima (Californication) and Gil Bellows (Ally McBeal) round out the cast.
The Los Angeles Film Festival opened Wednesday with Paul Weitz’s Grandma, featuring Lily Tomlin, and will gone through June 18, with movies on the project including The Diary of a Teenage Girl, Infinitely Polar Bear, The Overnight and the Russell Brand narrative Brand: A Second Coming. Pre-celebration screenings of Pixar’s Inside Out and Rick Famuyiwa’s Sundance hit Dope occurred not long ago.
