The American writer David Foster Wallace is nearing the big breakthrough, and toured the United States to promote his book infinite jest. He is accompanied by David Lipsky, who writes as a reporter for the magazine Rolling Stone. On the common path, however, there is tension: envy and competition cook up, while the two women and celebrities discuss.
The end of the tour is based on real events and people. The author David Foster Wallace had 1996 big success with his dystopian novel infinite jest (dt: infinite fun), which revolves around the search for an (also titled) master tape of a film, takes the audience so full of himself, that they have no desire to do anything after watching and die as a result.
