Sam adores the Beatles (his most loved is George). He named his little girl after “Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds,” and has taken in the greater part of life’s lessons from Beatles tunes. The lesson “I Am Sam” needs to show us is, “All you need is adoration.”
This is not exactly entirely genuine. Sam cherishes his girl more than any other person, and she adores him, however it will take more than adoration for him to see her through evaluation school and immaturity and out into the world. Since the film does not trust this, it has a genuine conflict with the majority of the group of onlookers.
